Port Macquarie's Positive Energy Adventures & Retreats is celebrating two prestigious tourism accolades, with recognition for both its unique visitor experiences and the people who bring them to life.
The award-winning tourism business has been named a Finalist in the 2026 NSW Regional Tourism Awards – Ecotourism, while Co-Founder, Retreat Facilitator and Guide Peta Alexopoulos has been announced as a Finalist in the 2026 NSW Top Tour Guide Awards.
The dual recognition highlights Positive Energy Adventures & Retreats' commitment to delivering immersive, sustainable tourism experiences that connect visitors with nature, culture and wellbeing.
Peta said the individual recognition was an opportunity to reflect on the true role of a guide.
"To me, a guide isn't defined by the trail they walk, but by the confidence they inspire in others. Every journey is an opportunity to help someone reconnect—with themselves, with others and with the natural world. That's what guiding means to me."
Together, Co-Founders Peta Alexopoulos and Belinda Johnson have built Positive Energy Adventures & Retreats around a shared vision of creating authentic experiences that leave a lasting impact. Their guided hiking adventures, wellness retreats and cultural experiences showcase the natural beauty of the Mid North Coast while encouraging visitors to slow down, reconnect and explore with purpose.
The Ecotourism finalist recognition acknowledges the business's commitment to sustainable tourism and responsible visitor experiences, while the NSW Top Tour Guide Awards recognise the professionalism, knowledge and leadership of guides who deliver exceptional visitor experiences across New South Wales.

The winners of the 2026 NSW Top Tour Guide Awards will be announced on Wednesday, 12 August at Taronga Zoo, Sydney, with the 2026 NSW Regional Tourism Awards to be held later this year.
